Biography

Andrea Foster is Vice President; Director of Hospitality Services, New England; and the National Director of Spa & Wellness Consulting for PKF Consulting USA. She is a 15+ year veteran within the lodging industry with a wide range of operations, marketing, business development, and consulting experience. Ms. Foster was with PKF Consulting from 2002 to 2006 in the firm’s Los Angeles office. She is now based in the firm’s Boston office.

During her tenure in consulting, Ms. Foster has completed a variety of assignments involving market positioning and repositioning, feasibility analysis, appraisals, operational analysis, sales and marketing analysis, spa studies, wellness concepting, demand and economic impact studies, and tourism studies. Ms. Foster works on hospitality engagements throughout the New England region, as well as spa-related assignments nationwide.

After graduating from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration with a Bachelor of Science degree, Foster held operations management positions with boutique-size branded and independent hotel properties, and held a position in hospitality technology before originally joining PKF in 2002. From 2006 until early 2011, Foster was the VP Marketing & Business Development for Miraval, a top-rated destination spa resort and healthy lifestyle brand located in Tucson, Arizona.

Ms. Foster is regularly quoted in Boston news publications on hospitality industry topics, has written several articles on the hotel spa and wellness industry published both nationally and internationally, and is the publisher of PKF’s Trends® in the Hotel Spa Industry annual report.

She is also a regular speaker at industry conferences, corporate events and universities. Past speaking engagements include: Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration; Boston University’s School of Hospitality Administration; Boston Lodging Pulse; Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International; Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals; Global Spa & Wellness Summit; New England Spa Association; New York Spa Alliance; Cornell Hotel Society Spa Conference; International Esthetics, Cosmetics and Spa Conference; The Lodging Conference; and The Resort Industry Conference.

Ms. Foster has been actively involved in the Cornell Alumni Ambassadors Admissions Network (CAAAN) for more than 15 years, is a former three-term Class Director for the Cornell Hotel Society, and is currently a member of the board for the New England Chapter of the Cornell Hotel Society and the industry advisor to the Cornell University Spa Association.

Ms. Foster oversees and works on hospitality engagements throughout the New England region, as well as hotel spa and wellness related assignments nationwide.
