The education is off and running at ESI Las Vegas!  Sunday morning, Nina Curtis taught “Aromatherapy Skin Care: Twelve ‘Must Have’ Essential Oils and Their Use in Your Skin Care Treatments.”

Known as “the esthetician’s esthetician,” Nina shared how to develop signature aromatherapy programs using her favorite essential oils. “Aromatherapy is medicine, fragrance and food,” says Nina Curtis—owner of West Hollywood’s exclusive haunt The Nile Institute.

Here are Nina’s top 12 essential oils for skin care:

#1 Bergamot—refreshing, uplifting, purifying, deodorizing, antidepressant

#2 Chamomile-balancing, calming, sedative, soothing, anti-inflammatory; good for relieving tension

#3 Carrot Oil—anti-aging, rejuvenating; excellent for cellular repair, dry and mature skin, scars and stretch marks

#4 Clary Sage— balances sebum, great for mental tension, “female issues/PMS and skin rejuvenation. Works well in hair and scalp treatments

#5 Frankincense—regenerates skin cell tissue, beneficial for all skin types, great for sensitive skin

#6 Helichrysum—regenerating, good for dermatitis, eczema and irritated skin

#7 Lavender—revitalizing, relaxing, purifying; ideal for skin care and hair care

#8 Palmarose—purifying, antiseptic, non-irritating, cell rejuvenating; excellent for problem skin

#9 Rose—antidepressant, nourishing, balancing, calming, cleansing, moisturizing and hydrating; great for mature skin, aphrodisiac

#10 Rosemary —increases collagen production, strengthens capillaries, excellent for jet lag
